For a bit of Halloween fun I've just composed a silly poem (must be all the pain-killers in me today!) ....................

BEWARE!

Bats and ghosts come out to play
On this spooky Samhain day
Beware the knock on your door if late
Or the sound of your creaky garden gate
It could be a trick, or it could be a treat
Who knows what’s there for you to meet!

Are you brave or are you shaking
Could this be a horror movie in the making?
Is that a dark owl hooting beware
As it looks at you with its baleful stare?
Did you hear footsteps or did it creep quiet
Making its way to you on this spooky night?

Have you said your magick words to keep you safe and sound
Or have you left your portal open ready to be found
By anything that roams and moans and rattles its chains in despair
Lock your windows, lock your doors and just be very aware
It could be your cat out on the prowl scratching to come in
Should you be afraid, be very afraid, is it really him making that din?

Who knows what’s out there, it’s busy this eve
All sorts are abroad, their mischief to weave
Have a care, stay safe and sound in case it’s really you they’ve found
Is that the wind keening around, or the sound of a baying hound?
Light your candle, say your prayers and close your curtains tight
It could be you, yes really you they’ve found this Samhain night!
