Comet HolmesThis is interesting ~ I'll have a look tonight to see if I can see it if we have a clear sky.

Basic finder chart here. It's very favourably placed at the moment for the UK and northern parts of the US. Binoculars will certainly help.

Thats great Rik ~ thanks for that.
Looks like it's going to be around for a while so we should get a good chance to see it.

Just seen it. It's very bright, and a naked-eye object even in the haze here. A few degrees to the left of alpha Persei - and about half as bright. If you know the night sky it'll stand out straight away as it disrupts the constellation of Perseus. Even if you don't - using the map linked earlier - and finding alpha Persei - you should find it very quickly.
It looks like a fuzzy star, but a pair of binoculars will really bring out a very distinctive circular blob! Well worth having a look!

Dang it...it is cloudy here. I don't know if it will be clearing up soon enough for me to catch...

It'll probably be very bright for a week or two - maybe even longer. It's the unpredictability of this comet which makes it so exciting!
