As I have pointed out elsewhere, 700 years before the rugby game TO THE DAY the French king began the persecution of the Knights Templar by arresting their Grand Master Jacques de Molay in Paris. The English King tried to protect them and many got away over the next 3 months. The Knights wore a red cross on a white background.
700 years later to the day at 7:30 my friend Steve Ash and a number of other London Pagans carried out a Templar ritual on old Templar property, they burned an effigy of Philip the Fair. The ritual finished as a clock chimed 8 (pm) and then the game began, and a lot of people wearing red on white crosses in Paris saw the French defeated! As someone is supposed to have shouted when Louis 16th was guillotined: "JAQUES DE MOLAY, THOU ART REVENGED AT LAST"! Steve W |
