Reference booksJust as a thought I was wondering what peoples favourite Reference Books were.... I also thought this may be helpful for beginners as a point of reference and somewhere to start.
Two of my favourite books are The Elemental Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells and Pagan Paths by Pete Jennings.

One of the first books I read was Sacred Celebrations by Glennie Kindred. It's a lovely source book for anyone wishing to learn how to celebrate and honour the changing rhythms and seasons of the Earth. Each of the eight Celtic festivals are explored, along with other topics such as inner journeying, crafts, creating sacred space, meditations, and the healing energies of trees and herbs associated with each festival.
It would make an excellent book for a beginner or for the more experienced just to dip into. Published by Gothic Images.

I loved The Roebuck in the Thicket. It was recommeded to me by Herne, and although it is more about Trad Craft it is written in simple language and is none patronising. The Wheel of the Year by Gail Duff is a good book, too. Also Hedgewitch by Rae Beth.

 Ha haaa ............. you beat me to it Minty! I was also going to recommend Gail Duff's Wheel of the Wiccan Year!! It was one of my first books when I was exploring Wicca, and it's certainly a good book for beginners.
